Ninth Nizam of Hyderabad Azmet Jah Bahadur Offers Dhatti and Nazrana to Bibi Ka Alam

Hyderabad, July 17: Media Plus Advertising & Public Relations proudly facilitated the coverage of a historic and culturally significant event as the Ninth Nizam of Hyderabad, Nawab Mir Muhammad Azmet Ali Khan, Walashan Azmet Jah Bahadur, and family members of the Paigah Nawab Vicarul Umara presented the traditional Dhatti and Nazrana to the Bibi Ka Alam on the 10th day of Moharram (July 17, 2024) at Purani Haveli.

The Nizam offered Dhatti from the first floor of the Peeli Gate (Yellow Gate) of the Purani Haveli, accompanied by Nawab Abul Faiz Khan, Trustee of the Mukarram Jah Trust for Education and Learning, Nawab Faiz bin Jung, and Charminar MLA Mir Zulfikhar Ali Khan. This tradition, deeply rooted in the history of the Nizam family, was carried forward by Azmet Jah Bahadur, marking his first such offering since being ceremonially anointed as the ninth Head of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty after the passing of Mukarram Jah Bahadur in January 2023.

After offering Nazrana, Azmet Jah Bahadur interacted with attendees and participated in the procession of Bibi Ka Alam, which is traditionally carried on the back of an Elephant, Roopavathi. The tradition of offering Dhatti and Nazrana by the Nizam family dates back to the times of the Seventh Nizam Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan and was continued by the Eighth Nizam, Nawab Mukarram Jah Bahadur.

This year’s event was especially notable as it was Azmet Jah Bahadur’s first offering since becoming the head of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty, reflecting the enduring cultural heritage and deep-seated traditions of Hyderabad. Media Plus played a crucial role in ensuring that this historic event received the attention and recognition it deserved, highlighting the cultural richness and historical continuity of the region.
